I'm gettiong serious about making Christmas presents. You can see from the chaos in my workroom and the amount of sawdust and chips under the saw that I am well on my way. Mom wants me to make night stands for our bed room with two pieces of granite that we brought back from India. I think they will turn our well.

It's Halloween. Owen dressed up as baskeball player for trunk or treat at the church this past week. Hopefully, his parents will take him out on Halloween and bring home lots of treats to share with his grandparents.

I don't think that we ever sent pictures of our new siding. We had a difficult time chosing the color and trim since we have such dark windows. Dark siding tends to fade and we didn't want that. So, we picked a neutral color and will put all the razzamatazz on the inside of the house. It looks OK. Maybe we'll paint the garage white or maybe we'll paint it red.

Tonight we are having 'Heritage Night' with the cub scouts. They are suppose to bring a traditional family dish. I thouhgt of bringing pea soup, but that would be too messy (and too strange) for the boys. Instead I made humus and pita bread. Still strange but not so messy. Ok, we're not arabic - but we made it alot in India. We will also play name that tune where the cub scouts have to guess which country a song is from. So much fun and Owen is not old enough to come.

Moving In

Hi everyone,

Craig, Hiedi and Owen have moved in with us while Craig is looking for a job. The graduate program at The Ohio State was not working out for him. He looked all summer for a job in his field but was unsuccessful. They'll live with us until he finds a job, goes back to school or whatever. Anyway, Owen likes to follow me around and do what I'm doing. If he keeps this up, all the girls are going to go crazy over this hunk.

Craig has re-discovered the joy of making sawdust.

Time to start another blog

Hi everyone,

We have pretty much abandoned blogging since our return from India - nothing exciting was happening in our lives. Life is pretty calm in Waterloo, nevertheless, we are busy. So I thought that we should start another blog with a new name. We'll try to find something to talk about and pictures to show - or maybe we'll just recite poetry.

This past week I was going to drive our mule build tractor and found this little toy tractor next to it. The toy tractor is the 'Krish' tractor which is the result of our time in India. I had never seen a production Krish tractor as we left before it went into production. The tractor I'm standing next to has the transmission that I am currently working on.
